Eating vegetables helps to promote clear skin by cleansing your digestive system.  Fruits and vegetables are an excellent source of roughage.  That is, when they are consumed because of their texture and fiber content, they cleanse the digestive system and move along previously consumed foods out of your body which helps keep it healthy.
