Olive Oil

Extra virgin olive oil is a concentrated source of mono-unsaturated fats (a healthy fat that remains liquid at room temperature) and vitamin E.  Taking a spoonful of olive oil daily is especially helpful if you have dry skin.  The vitamin E contained in olive oil helps to fade scars that acne can leave behind.

Sunflower Seeds

Sunflower seeds are also a good source of Vitamin E,
Selenium, Potassium and Protein.  Vitamin E, which also has antioxidant properties, can reduce scarring from acne.

Other food sources of Vitamin E:

Nuts - Almonds, Walnuts, Peanuts, Pistachios and Hazelnuts.

Oils - Wheat Germ, Corn, Canola, Sunflower, Sesame, Cottonseed, Peanut, Rice Bran, and Palm oils.

Oil seeds, Legumes and Grains
- Lentils, Wheat, Rice, and Chickpeas.
Additional Notes:  Eating these foods can give skin a wonderful glow, but should be used sparingly especially if you have oily skin, as they have a high fat and oil content and can add additional oil to the skin.
