Ginger is a natural plant stem that has been used for years for a wide range of health symptoms and used in a variety of recipes to enhance their taste. It has a distinct shape and an even more distinct taste, which can be described as spicy and slightly sweet. Ginger can be effective in helping to fight acne in the following ways:
- Helps reduce inflammation or redness caused by acne
- Helps stimulate blood circulation
- Helps kill bacteria
- Helps clear away mucous
- Spiciness can help remove toxins from the body by causing perspiration

The most effective ways for ginger to be prepared is to juice a small piece and add it to carrot juice (or other juice) or to boil a piece of ginger and add it to a cup of tea. This is because liquids are more easily and quickly absorbed and digested. Eating crystallized ginger does not have the same effect as juicing or steeping ginger, but is a great snack, nonetheless.
Because this herb is pungent and may have side effects, ginger should be taken in moderation. A very small piece is very effective. It has been said, that if you are taking any type of medication, you should consult with your physician before consuming ginger.
