Consuming fruits are not only good for obtaining healthy skin, but are good for the health overall.  Fruits contain lots of vitamins that the body may be lacking.  Fruits are delicious and make great snacks.  They have a high water content which keeps the skin hydrated.  The following fruits are especially helpful for acne prone skin.

Apples – especially “Red Delicious” apples.  The pectin, which serves as fiber in the skin of the Red Delicious apples help cleanse the digestive tract and is high in antioxidants.
Bananas – the potassium in bananas help with the elasticity in skin.  Bananas are a pro-biotic food – they contain live bacteria.   Eating pro-biotic fruit helps you to feed the good bacteria in your digestive system, which in turn helps fight off bad bacteria.

Berries – especially blueberries, are high in antioxidants, which help keep skin healthy.

Cherries – are a highly alkaline fruit which help to produce a non acidic environment in the body
